Since earning her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in College Student Affairs Administration at UGA, Tia has become an experienced social justice and safe space facilitator who has developed a passion for empowering young people around social justice issues and bringing cultural awareness to those around her. She is currently pursuing a Master in Social Work.
Prior to her start at Emory in 2014, she worked at what was formerly Gainesville State College (now The University of North Georgia) and the University of Georgia.
Tia is a crockpot enthusiast. If you come to her house, there is typically a new recipe brewing.
Natalie Turrin | Coordinator of Gender and Sexuality
Natalie is the Coordinator for Gender and Sexuality Programs in the Office of LGBT Life and Center for Women. Originally from Toronto Canada, Natalie holds a BSc in Genetics and an MA in Women's Studies. She is currently a doctoral candidate in the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Emory. Her dissertation explores what epigenetics - a field of study that examines gene-environment interactions and the mechanisms by which genes switch 'on' and 'off' - can offer feminism.
Natalie is an enthusiastic advocate for science literacy in feminism and contact sports for women. In her spare time you may find her on roller skates, cross-training, cooking, or baking.
